In Las Vegas, a new spa and casino resort opened. It’s called the M Resort, Spa and Casino. Recently it’s been a hard time for Vegas casinos, but the new casino owner, Anthony Marnell, said that timeless tenets, service and value, will push the casino resort forward.

The 90-acre M Resort cost over $1 billion and has over 380 rooms. It is situated 10 miles south of Las Vegas in Henderson and has 9 restaurants, studio space suitable for filming, and other great amenities. It might be difficult to fill the hotel in the first month of business. “I do feel good that I don’t have to fill 3,000 of them every night, because that would be a daunting challenge that the Strip is facing right now,” Marnell told The Associated Press. “I think that we can carve out our little tiny niche down here with this product.”

According to the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, Las Vegas hotels increased their rooms by 7,500 in 2008. However, guest numbers dropped 4.4%. Rates of rooms were decreasing nearly 10% to $119.19 per night.

Las Vegas casinos are under pressure because of the debts they have. Marnell said “If you see the staff getting reduced back, everything starts to degrade day by day, the comps and online casino bonuses get tighter, the payroll gets less, it just goes on and on until they eventually feel like, ‘What am I going here for?’”.
All the staff were told to do the best at what they do and to keep their customers very happy.
